Teresa Knowles McLaughlin

TUSCALOOSA – Teresa “Terri” Knowles McLaughlin, age 64 passed away February 15, 2023 at Hospice of West Alabama. A celebration of life service will be at 3:00pm, February 19, 2023 at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Pastor Keith Pugh officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service, with Memory Chapel Funeral Home directing.

Born in Tuscaloosa, AL on August 28, 1958, she was the daughter of the late Doyle B Knowles and Jo Ann Knowles. She was a graduate of Tuscaloosa High School She received her LPN certificate in Nursing from Shelton State Community College. Terri spent most of her career in the medical field working at Tuscaloosa Ophthalmology and numerous nursing homes around Tuscaloosa County. She married David Paul McLaughlin on May 16, 1981. Terri was a long time member of Alberta Baptist Church.

Terri was preceded in death by her husband, David Paul McLaughlin; parents, Doyle Knowles and Jo Ann Knowles of Tuscaloosa AL; brother, William “Billy” Knowles of Old’s Mar, FL; and sister Bobbie Knowles of Smith Station, AL. Survivors include sisters, Lynne Rogers(Ron) of Salem, AL; and Trish Knowles of Salem, AL; children, Justin McLaughlin(Anna) of Ralph, Matthew McLaughlin(Adrienne) of Duncanville, and Madison McLaughlin(fiancée Austin Walker) of Tuscaloosa; grandchildren, Duncan, Luke and Jake McLaughlin, Graham, Mary Neal, and Teagan McLaughlin.

Terri was a loving wife, mother, and Meme. She enjoyed spending time with her family, watching her grandchildren in sports and dance activities, and attending Alabama sporting events. She was greatly loved by her family and friends and will be missed by all who knew her.

Pallbearers will be Duncan McLaughlin, Luke McLaughlin, Jake McLaughlin, Graham McLaughlin, Jay Watkins, Austin Walker, Doug Killough, and David Turner. Thank you to Dr. DeBell and the wonderful staff at Hospice of West Alabama.
