Terry Dale Poe

Terry Dale Poe, age 52, of Cottondale, died March 13, 2011, at home. Graveside services will be 12 noon Wednesday at Big Hurricane Cemetery with Kenneth Webb officiating and Heritage Chapel Funeral Home & Cremations, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. The family requests that relatives and friends wear casual attire. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

He was preceded in death by his mom, Irene Poe; dad, Barto Poe; and brothers, Bob Poe and Junior Poe.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Sims Poe of Cottondale; daughter, Kristy Michelle Sims of Cottondale; sons, Cameron Sims (Monica) of Vance, Jamie Sims of Cottondale, and Joey Poe (Amanda) of Cullman; sisters, Martha Jones of Northport and Peggy Toxey of Brookwood; brothers, Raiford Poe of Coaling, B.B. Poe of Brookwood, and Robert Poe of West Blocton; and grandchildren, Katie Sims, Keri Sims, Jackson Poe, and Abbigayle Poe.

He was a big man with a kind heart. He loved sports, poker, and family.

Pallbearers will be Doug Toxey, Danny Toxey, Justin Toxey, Doc Laney, Wally McFerrin, Keith Poe, John Battles, and Paul Duncan.
