Voncile Pearce

Voncile Roberts Pearce passed away peacefully at home on August 17, 2023 surrounded by her family. She was born on January 2,1938,in Gilbertown, Alabama,at her childhood home. She married Houston Pearce in 1961,who preceded her in death in 2022. She attended the University of Alabama and received a Masters Degree in mathematics and taught math at Walker Jr. College for 30 years. After retiring from teaching, she worked with her husband in the broadcasting business. Voncile is survived by her children, Christie Myers (Mark), Dean Pearce (Tammy) and Susan Arnold (Scott) and grandchildren, Thomas Arnold (Nikita), Houston Pearce, David Arnold, Meredith Myers, William Arnold and Hayes Pearce. She is also survived by her mother, Lillian Roberts, (age 103) and many nieces and nephews. She loved all of her family deeply and had a special place in her heart for animals. She enjoyed reading, traveling, Alabama Football and spending time with family. Voncile will remain forever in our hearts. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to Hospice of West Alabama. A private graveside service will be held for the family. The family will open Voncile’s home for visitors from 1:00 pm- 2:00 pm on Sunday, August 20, 2023. THIS HAS BEEN CANCELED, there will be no visitation at Voncile's home at this time.
