Ardell smith

Ardell E. Smith, 74 of Twin Falls passed away Wednesday June 13, 2012 at Twin Falls Care Center. He was born October 5, 1937 to George William Smith and Lestra Harriett Cook in Jerome, ID where he attended school and helped on the family farm.

In 1953 he met and fell in love with Mary Patterson, on April 22, 1957 they were married in Jerome. In 1960 the couple moved to California where Ardell worked at a sheet metal manufacturing plant for many years until retirement. In 2003 they returned to Twin Falls to enjoy retirement.

Ardell’s passion was bowling and he loved being on leagues as well as playing with family members. He enjoyed spending alot of his time outside in the yard and especially behind a barbecue grill, cooking for family and friends. He was an avid BSU and 49ers fan and enjoyed watching sports.

Ardell was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Ludean Gulick and Berzette Dirk; and two brothers, Paul and Loy Smith.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Smith; brothers, LaMar, Orel, and Darrell Smith; a sister Glenda Patterson; a son Jeff Smith (Rachel Seaman) and his children, Bryce, Sean, and Destiny of Twin Falls; a daughter Debbie Bakken and her son Mitchell of Buhl, Idaho; and a son Curt (Beverly) Smith and their children Kyle, Andrew, Justin, and Brandon of San Lorenzo, California.

Memorial services are under the direction of Lance Cox and the staff at White Mortuary and will be held Tuesday June 19, 2012 at 2:00pm at White Mortuary “Chapel by the Park”. Inurnment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Twin Falls, ID.
