Linda Rearick, 71, passed away Saturday evening, Sept. 16, 2017 at home with her husband Gene and daughter Ranae by her side. Linda had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in May and because of complications was not able to undergo aggressive treatment. After a period of hospitalization she came home for hospice care on Thursday Sept. 14 and had an evening enjoying her home, family, and pets.
Linda was born July 28, 1946 in Twin Falls to Robert and Barbara (Montgomery) Bailey. She grew up in Twin Falls and attended both the old elementary school at Curry and the "new" Harrison Elementary School. After graduating from Twin Falls High School she attended Ricks College and Idaho State University. She was particularly proud of completing her Registered Nursing degree at the College of Southern Idaho although she was not able to practice that profession due to her own health problems.
In 1966 Linda married Boyd Ash of Twin Falls and they had two children, Randy and Ranae. They lived in Salt Lake City and Calgary, Alberta but were later divorced. Linda later married Ron Clark and after living in Eugene, OR and Colorado Springs, CO they returned to Idaho and lived in Buhl. Linda and Ron were the parents of two children: Aaron and April. After their divorce, Linda met and married Gene Rearick. Linda and Gene spent seventeen very happy years together before their time with each other was cut too short by her illness. They made yearly trips to one of their favorite places, Yellowstone National Park, as well as several trips to Hawaii and the Oregon Coast. They also enjoyed camping trips to Stanley Lake and the Pioneer Mountains. This spring before Linda became too ill they flew to upstate New York where she was able to visit LDS church historic sites.
Linda's brother Hal recalls her as a very happy child with a sunny disposition. She grew into an adult who enjoyed talking with anyone and became friends with everyone she met. Her children remember her as a mother who went out of the way to make holidays and birthdays very special. Christmas was her favorite and she admitted to staying awake all night on Christmas Eves as a child. Linda will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Linda is survived by her husband Gene; her brother Hal (Rosanne) Bailey of St. George, UT; her children Randy Clark of Ashland, OR, Ranae (Frank) Shoup of Twin Falls, Aaron (Rachel) Clark of West Monroe, LA, and April (Chris) Clark-Walker of Tacoma, WA as well as Gene's children Beth (James Begley) Rearick of Tacoma, WA, Carol (Chris) Mueller of Beaverton, OR, and David (Melisa) Rearick of Herriman, UT. She also had a close relationship with Ron's older children Lauri (Bruce) Cragun of Riverdale, UT and her brothers Kevin and Mike Clark. Linda is also survived by twenty grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Linda was preceded in death by both of her parents; two grandchildren, Zoey Clark and Benjamin Clark; and a stepdaughter Melanie Clark.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Twin Falls LDS West Stake Center 667 Harrison St. in Twin Falls with a viewing from 6-8 p.m. Friday, September 22, 2017 at White Mortuary “Chapel by the Park.”
