I just wrote a note to Ernie's family, a long note about Ernie. I hope it will be seen because it was a meaningful memory of a fine person. It disappear off the space here, but maybe it will be seen even though I do not know why it appears to have been erased. Bob Thompson

I will never forget the many hours I spent with the Helms boys at their home on Augusta street in Tyler, in the 1950s. They were the best friends I have ever had.  I was in O.J.'s grade, but was also good friends with Ernie.

Known for Many years, a dear friend of the entire family.  Was not in contact for the last several years, was a friend to O J, Clyde and Ernie.  Hope his life was happy and peaceful.  We truly loved the Helms boys.
