Donna Sue Hayes

Donna was larger than life. She had a big heart and was compassionate, with a colorful personality. Donna was married for 35 years to the love of her life, Darrell, in Dallas, Texas. She was a dedicated wife and mother, who worked hard to provide for her family. Donna enjoyed collecting beanie babies, going to family reunions, and the color green. Her favorite place to go with her sister and sister-in-law was the boats. She loved to gamble by playing slots, poker, and 42 dominoes. Donna dressed to impress and knew how to brighten a room. Most of all, she loved being a grandmother to her precious grandbabies. Donna will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Donna is survived by children, Jimmy Lucas of Houston, TX, Janet Adams of Winnsboro, TX, Jackie Lucas of Gilmer, TX, Robert Hayes of Mesquite, TX, and Michael Hayes of Winnsboro, TX; siblings, Brenda Frazier of Gunter, TX, and Steve Houston of Tyler, TX; grandchildren, Amber, Ashley, Johnathan, Rachel, Brenda, Caity, Alison, Hollis, James, Bradley, Meagan, Mallerie, Billy, Anna, Troy, and Patrick; and many great-grandchildren.

Donna is preceded in death by her loving husband, Darrell Wayne Hayes; parents, James Donald and Jimmie Lou Houston; and brother, Johnny Houston.

A graveside service for Donna will be held on Friday, October 29, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the Shady Grove Cemetery.
