Geralene (Geri) Reddoch McGhee, 86, of Lindale, Texas, a respected mother, faithful sister, loving GRANDmother, steadfast friend, and dedicated prayer warrior finished her earthly race at the feet of Jesus when she was called to her heavenly home on Wednesday, June 4, 2025.
Her lifelong goal was to be face to face with her Savior, fully trusting in His presence and power. She was faithful to work out her salvation with fear and trembling as she encouraged others to do the same. She was a kingdom-minded servant who never shied away from an opportunity to share the gospel truth with anyone — whether she knew you or not. If you asked for prayer, she prayed until an answer came. She loved spending time walking on her property while listening to God’s word. As her eyesight was failing, the hearing of God’s word became essential. As a young Christian, Geri worked on the Billy Graham Crusades in Texas — both in San Antonio and Dallas. Her determination to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ only grew in the following years as she would devote the remainder of her adult life to educating and equipping believers with the word of God. She holds the titles of speaker, radio guest host, author, and songwriter to name a few. Her knowledge and spiritual insight set many free to walk in victory. Her vision was fully grounded in her calling to be one of God’s instruments to bring healing, deliverance, teaching and training to growing Christians and those in ministerial leadership positions, alike. It was her prayer that through her ministry, Abiding Life Ministries, those taught and trained would be equipped to carry out Christ’s ministry here on earth for the building up of the body of Christ. She believed God created each individual with a divine purpose, and she believed the spiritual life should be lived out as an overcoming life. For every problem, trial or circumstance, Geri taught Jesus and His word were the only answer. Geri was confident Heaven awaited because she believed God is the ultimate Healer, and the only way to be saved from our sins. Even in death, her life continues to shine as a light to those who would put their trust in the name of Jesus Christ. Born in Seguin, Texas on February 7, 1939 to Louis and Doris Reddoch, Geri is the oldest of three girls, followed in birth by her sister Nila Reddoch Wunderlich and younger sister, Michele Reddoch McCurdy-Buonacorsi. Growing up in San Antonio with her sisters, Geri graduated Sam Houston High school in 1957 and went on to attend Trinity University.
Geri is survived by her son whom she deeply loved — Kyle Nees and his wife, Gretchen. She’s survived by her GRANDchildren Kiley Frederick-Bult, her husband, Michael, and their three children — Colt, Mayley, and Dallas, her granddaughter Holley Snow, her husband, David, and their two children — Montgomery and Wynter, and her grandson David Nees, his wife, McKenzie, and their son Stetson. Among those left behind to cherish her memory are two precious sisters, Nila Wunderlich and Michele McCurdy-Buonacorsi, and numerous brothers-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews, and dozens of others who call her Grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her son, Louis Todd Nees, her husband, Robert Owen “Bob” McGhee, and her parents — Louis and Doris Reddoch.
The family wishes to extend sincere gratitude for the gracious prayers, sympathy and support from countless friends and acquaintances. Funeral services for Geri will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025 at 10 a.m. at Sunset Memorial located at 1701 Austin Highway San Antonio, Texas 78218. A private, family graveside service will follow.
As we mourn our loss, we also celebrate the promise of heaven. And, we are certain, our precious mother, GRANDmother and Geri is where she always longed to be — in the loving presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, to Him be the glory.
