Helen Joyce Harris McClendon age 82 years young of Tyler, went home to our father Sunday May 10th in Tyler. Funeral Services will be 10:00am Wednesday at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home with Pastor Brandon Holliski and Tony Garrett of Southern Oaks Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Tyler Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6-8:00pm, Tuesday, at the funeral home.
Helen was born in Hillsboro to Carl E. Sr. and Addie Dunn Harris on November 24, 1932. She went to high school at La Vega High School in Waco graduating in 1950. She was a full time devoted mother and grandmother.
Helen is survived by her husband of 59 years Henry of Tyler; sons, Carl McClendon and wife, Patti of Winona, Steven McClendon and wife Shannon of Tyler; daughter, Deana McClendon of Tyler; grandchildren, Michelle Blalack, Mark Blalack, and wife Najat, Jason McClendon and wife, Mallory, Drew, Whitney and Chase McClendon, Rachel Shirey and Brent McClendon; 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; sister, Inda Farish. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and also her traveling buddy Norma Wall and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Ruth and two brothers, Carl E, Jr. and Stanley.
