Imogene graduated from Athens High School in 1944 in Athens, Texas. She and her husband (Oneil) of 65 years traveled and lived in Corpus Christi, Tx where he served in the US Navy before moving back and making their home in Tyler. She was a beloved homemaker working occasionally at Creme Lure Company. In her younger years she could ride a horse and shoot a gun better than anyone earning her the name Nanny Oakley by her granddaughter. She loved working in her flowerbeds and garden but her greatest love was raising her children and spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was a devout Christian her entire life serving in WMU and teaching Sunday School. She was a member of Tyland Baptist Church. Imogene was loved by everyone who knew her. You were always greeted with a hug and never left her house hungry. She will be dearly missed. We will forever carry her love and memory in our hearts.
She is survived by her sister Patricia Halbrook and husband Donnie of Wylie, TX, son Michael Richards and wife Melba of Tyler, Tx, daughter Kathy Harris of Tyler, Tx, 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 10 great great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.
