

James Harold Taylor, 88, of Whitehouse, passed away on November 20, 2014 in Tyler. Mr. Taylor, a retired lab technician for Kelly Springfield, was born on February 12, 1926 in Uhrichsville, OH. He grew up and attended school in Revanna.
Following high school he enlisted in the Navy and served during World War II. After the war, he worked in the coal mines in Tennessee. On October 2, 1948 he married Bonnie Grimes in Rossville, GA. They made their home in Whipple, TN. They then moved to Tyler in 1953 and he worked for Dick Reeves as a mechanic and later for Kelley Springfield. He retired in 1982.
He played the guitar, was once in a band and enjoyed gardening. He would often give the bounty of his gardening to others.
He was preceded in death by his parents and all of his siblings. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie of Whitehouse; daughters, Debbie and her husband, Dale Welch of Tyler; Pam and her husband, Gary Dagley of Winona; son, Jimmy L. and his wife, Rebecca Taylor of Flint; many grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and many great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 3:00-5:00PM, Sunday, November 23, 2014 at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home, 12053 Highway 64 West, Tyler.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, November 24, 2014, also at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Tyler Memorial Cemetery.
