Mr. Phillips was born on May 15, 1930, in Lubbock to John Robert & Thula Collins Phillips and passed away on October 24, 2017 in Tyler. He lived in Tyler most of his life, a member of East Tyler Baptist Church and worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone for many years.
Mr. Phillips is survived by his wife of 63 years Loretta Phillips, grandson, Kirk Chambers and wife, Summers of Palestine, great-grandchildren, Alexis Chambers & Garrett Chambers both of Palestine. He was also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Paula Chambers, his brothers, Tal Phillips, John Phillips, his sisters, Opal Phillips, Lena Beddingfield, Ruth Herren and Nona Hunter.
Visitation will be prior to service at the Mausoleum.
