Dana L. Shelley

Age 53, Uncasville, CT

Dana Leigh Shelley of Uncasville passed away October 28th, 2023 at home surrounded by family after a courageous battle with a long term illness.

Dana was born in Easton, PA on December 20, 1969, the daughter of Paul E Shelley and the late Beverly (Longmore) Shelley.

Dana graduated from Norwich Free Academy in 1987.

She had worked for Hartford HealthCare Medical Group (formerly New London Family Practice) for 23 years at Shaw’s Cove in New London, CT. Dana considered the NLFP her second family.

If you were to ask Dana what her biggest accomplishments and joys were in her life she would say with the biggest smile, it was her son Daniel and daughter Ashley. They were the biggest joys of her life and her everything. She was so proud of both of them.

Dana loved to travel to her favorite destinations with her family to Disney World and Block Island, RI. She especially loved her times at the beach on Block Island.

She is survived by her son Daniel Shelley (Amanda), daughter Ashley Ross—Shelley (Kevin), father Paul Shelley, sister Paula Shelley, brother Scott Shelley (Jagger) and her second families Hope Hritz family, Tara Hurt family and her work family at Hartford HealthCare Medical Group.

Dana’s family would especially like to thank all of her friends that supported her by bringing in food while she was fighting her illness and doing anything else she may have needed. You all are the best and she loved you very much.

Visitation will be Friday Nov. 17, 2023 at the funeral home from 5:00pm -7:00pm.
