Jeremy is survived by his by mother Linda Mcalpine and step-father James, of Oakdale, CT; his sister Leah Mitchell and brother-in-law, Darius and their daughters, Adrianna, Layla and Candace, of Bozrah, CT.; and his grandparents Linda and John Smith, of Montville, CT; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Jeremy is preceded in death by his loving father Jay Wilcox of Old Saybrook, CT., and his grandparent’s Claude and Eunice Wilcox, of Old Saybrook, CT.
Jeremy was born December 20th, 1987 in Middletown, CT., to Linda Mcalpine and Jay Wilcox. He graduated from Valley Regional High School in 2007. During this time, Jeremy could be found on the football field where he served as a member of Valley’s Varsity Football team.
Jeremy grew up on and around boats, so finding him at the local marina was never a surprise; he always needed to be on or near the water. He also had a “need for speed” so being on the back of a motorcycle and in Laconia for bike week was something he loved. If it wasn’t the marina or motorcycle, Jeremy could be found around a bonfire or surrounded by friends and family; as many know, he was the life of the party. He had an exuberant personality and could change the mood of any environment at the drop of a dime. Above all else, Jeremy always had an ear to listen, a hand to lend, a hug to give, or perhaps, just his shirt to take off. Jeremy’s infectious laugh will leave us all with memories that will last a lifetime.
Please join us in celebration of Jeremy's life which will be held at 2:00pm, on Saturday, April 14, 2018, at the American Legion in Old Saybrook
