She was born in Uncasville on September 29, 1925 to the late Bernard and Hazel (Bandy) Baldwin Sr. She married her beloved husband Charlie D. Ketner in Taylorville, IL. Melba raised her family while also working in the sewing room at L&M Hospital and was a dietary technician in the Quaker Hill school system. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Waterford Senior Center.
Besides her husband, survivors include a son; David W. Ketner, daughters; Sandra L Dixon, Diana L. Ketner, brother; Bernard B. Baldwin Jr., sister; Barbara Baldwin, grandchildren; Chelsea A. Ketner and Dennis N. Ketner, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. Melba was predeceased by her brothers; Clinton Baldwin, William J. Baldwin, and sisters; Martha Johnson, Cora Wolley and Alicia P. Maynard.
There are no calling hours. A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday at 11am at Comstock Cemetery, Depot Rd., Uncasville, CT. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Southeast CT.
