

He was born in Fall River, MA on March 8, 1924 to the late Joseph and Hermina (Piccard) Lajoie. He enlisted in the US Navy and served his country honorably for 20 years including wartime in WWII. On Sept. 9, 1950 he married his beloved wife Lina (Vaz) in Pawtucket, RI. She predeceased him in March of 2005. After his 20 years in the Navy, Vincent worked for 23 years in S.T.O. Testing at Electric Boat in Groton until his retirement. He was a life member of the V.F.W.
Vincent is survived by a daughter; Donna (Lajoie) Bliven, sons; Michael Lajoie, Raymond Lajoie, grandchildren; Amber (Bliven) McDonnell, Neil Bliven, David Bliven, Heidi Lajoie, Nikki Lajoie, April (Lajoie) Prior, Patrick Lajoie and Scott Lajoie, great-grandchildren; Jordan, Samantha, Teagan, DJ, Tony, Connor and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife, a grandson; Michael John Lajoie II, brothers; Roland, Raymond, Romeo and Noel, and sisters; Grace (Lajoie) Esperanza, Sister Rose Lajoie, Lina (Lajoie) Bigelow and Noella (Alubicki) Lajoie.
Funeral Services will be held Monday at the Montville Funeral Home of Church & Allen, 53 Norwich-New London Tnpk., Uncasville at 11:30am. Calling hours will begin that morning at 10am until the time of the service. Burial will immediately follow at St. Patrick Cemetery in Uncasville with Military Honors.
