Andrew J. Peterson

Andrew J. Peterson, age 92, of Roselle Park, NJ, passed away peacefully, after a long illness, at home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday July 12, 2015. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Spirit Church Suburban Road, corner of Morris Avenue Union, NJ, on Thursday July 16, 2015 at 9:30 AM. Interment will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park Union, NJ. The family will receive their friends at McCracken Funeral Home 1500 Morris Avenue Union, NJ, on Wednesday July 15, 2015 from 5-8 PM. Andrew was born in Newark, NJ, as the youngest child of 6 in the Peterson home. He held a management position in a local knitting mill, until the business closed. He then moved to office management in a variety of businesses, finally retiring from Sears in Springfield, NJ, after 20 years of service. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army serving in France and Italy during WWII. Andrew was the beloved husband for 69 years to Margaret (Karl) Peterson, devoted father of Margaret Peterson, Andrea (John) Gorencel and Dr. Gregory (Beth Ann) Peterson, loving grandfather of Krystina, Jenna, Eric, Robert and Melissa and cherished great-grandfather of Gabriella and Isabelle.
