Anthony Tamburro (91) passed away peacefully in his Springfield home, March 31. While a resident for 50+ years in Union he began his successful career as an Investigator for Hooper Holmes. He advanced his career as a VP at Archie Schwartz Real Estate until establishing his own Industrial Real Estate business: Tamburro Realty until his retirement in 2018 at the age of 89. With Anthony’s professional expertise and business savvy investments, he owned numerous successful properties including Howard Johnson’s Hotel and Restaurant, in Phillipsburg, NJ.
Anthony’s professional successes were motivated by his unwavering and unconditional love for his family: His wife, the love of his life Dorothy (Docker) for 68 years, his two children – daughter Donna (Tamburro) Strober (Alan) and son and business associate Garry.
His legacy of love will be perpetuated through the many memories he created as “Poppy” with his cherished granddaughters Dori Morgan (Sam), Dana and Tara Strober. His ultimate reward was his Great-grandson Thomas Morgan. Anthony was predeceased by his parents Carmen and Francis Tamburro (Amato).
Anthony’s true pride and joy in life was family time - at his beach house or traveling the world together, spoiling and enjoying time with his wife, children and grandchildren. Anthony will be remembered as a respected businessman and the loved and loving head of the Tamburro family.
Funeral Service was private, a memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
