Atanasio was predeceased by his parents Margaro Velez and Maria Longina Gonzalez and his sisters Natalia and Luz Enilda. He is survived by his wife Leila, daughter Edna and son William and grandson Eric. He is also survived by 5 brothers, Julian, Antonio, Saturnino, Leonides and Jesus Antonio and 2 sisters, Candida and Gladys and many nephews and nieces.
Atanasio worked over 20 years for A&P Bakery in Newark and 15 years for Griffith Labs in Union.
He was a member of Second Presbyterian Church and Spanish Presbyterian Church in Newark.
Burial will take place at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown at 11:30am.
Atanasio's legacy of kindness and adventure will continue to inspire those who were fortunate to have shared in his life.
