It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Blanca L. Burke, a long-time resident of Palm Coast, Florida, on December 3rd, 2025. Surrounded by her loving family, Blanca's soul left this world at the age of 87 after a life filled with love, warmth, and unwavering kindness.
Blanca was born in Colombia and became a proud American Citizen, embracing her new homeland with the same love and devotion she had for her family. She was a proud American, always grateful for the opportunities and freedom this country provided, and she carried that pride in her heart throughout her life.
Blanca was the beloved mother of Claudia Sandoval, Nohra Sandoval DeFago, and son in laws Jeffrey DeFago and Michael Sciarra. She was a cherished sister to her surviving sibling, Alcira Matallana. She was also a proud and devoted grandmother, leaving behind her grandson, Jeff DeFago, who brought her immense joy. As an adoring aunt, Blanca’s love and support touched the lives of her nieces and nephews, and she found great happiness in watching their families grow, with many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Blanca was predeceased by her devoted husband, George Burke, and her beloved daughter, Jenny Sandoval-Sciarra. The love she shared with George was the foundation of a beautiful life together, one that continues to inspire all who knew them. The loss of Jenny was a heartbreak Blanca carried with grace, always keeping her daughter’s memory alive in her heart. She was also predeceased by three brothers and one sister, who she is now reunited with in eternity.
Blanca's presence brought comfort and joy to everyone around her, and those who knew her will always remember her as an embodiment of love, light, and kindness. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy of family and compassion will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were touched by her.
Blanca’s spirit will forever shine in the hearts of her daughters, grandson, family, and friends. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love she gave so freely throughout her life.
A celebration of her life will be held on December 19th, 2025, at 10:00 AM. St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church 979 Avenue C, Bayonne, NJ 07002.
