It is with a heavy heart that we share the peaceful passing of Carol Burner, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, on July 14th.
Carol shared 26 cherished years of marriage with her first husband, Tom Butler, with whom she raised their four children. Later in life, she found love again and married Bruce Burner, continuing to build a life rooted in warmth and adventure.
Carol had a passion for traveling but always found joy in the simple things at home: gardening, bird watching, and baking with her grandchildren. Driven by her empathy for others, Carol returned to school later in life to fulfill her dream of earning a master’s degree in grief counseling. She spent many years guiding others through loss with wisdom and compassion, offering comfort to countless individuals and families.
Carol is now reunited in heaven with her late husbands, Tom and Bruce, and her children, Sharron and Tom. She is survived by her daughters, Barbara and Cathy, son-in-law Richard, and her adored grandchildren, who will carry forward her memory.
Carol’s life was a testament to strength, love, and second chances. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A small prayer service will be held for Carol on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at 10:30am at McCracken Funeral Home, 1500 Morris Ave., Union, NJ 07083. A graveside service will immediately follow at 11:30 AM at Hollywood Memorial Park, 1500 Stuyvesant Ave., Union, NJ 07083.
In lieu of flowers, the Burner family asks that donations be made to the Michael J. Fox Parkinson's Foundation: https://tinyurl.com/3f8dezww
