

James was born on Sunday, June 25, 1950, in Milford, Massachusetts, to John Raymond Lukko and Mary Providence Lukko. He lived in Norwood, Massachusetts for the first twelve years of his life before moving with his parents and siblings to Cranford, New Jersey. James attended Cranford High School, where he met the love of his life, Charlotte DuBoyce. They were married on September 2, 1972, and together raised six children.
James earned a degree in business administration from Seton Hall University. He dedicated over 41 years of service to PSE&G, where his commitment and reliability were unmatched.
James was a sports enthusiast, a movie and music connoisseur, and a devoted Jeopardy aficionado. He was a true history buff and a man of many interests and talents. Most of all, he was a loyal family man who sacrificed endlessly for those he loved. A proud blue-collar worker, his work ethic spoke for itself. His sarcasm, intelligence, and charismatic nature allowed him to fit into any situation and left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
James was predeceased by his parents, John Raymond Lukko and Mary Providence Lukko. He is survived by his loving wife, Charlotte Lukko; his children Eileen Wahrenberger, James C. Lukko, Patrick Lukko and his wife Lisa, John Lukko and his wife Christine, Mary Ellen Paz and her husband Christian, and Michael Lukko and his wife Fiorella; his grandchildren Austin and Skyler Wahrenberger, Ryan, Jake, Jenna, Gianna Lukko, Dominique, Aiden, Lucas, and Melanie Paz, and soon-to-be-born Gavin James Lukko; his siblings John Lukko and his wife Patricia Lukko, Sister Mary Edel, and Thomas Lukko and his wife Jan; his sister-in-law Susan Hartz and her husband Jacob; and nephews Timothy Lukko, David Hartz; and nieces Christine Lundberg, Melissa Hartz, and Kelly Lukko; and other beloved relatives and friends.
James will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit the McCracken Funeral Home in Union, NJ on Friday January 2, 2026 from 4:00-8:00pm for visitation.
