He was born in Elizabeth, grew up in Kenilworth, and raised his family and spent most of his life in Union -a place he called home for many years and where he created a lifetime of memories and friendships.
Bob proudly served in the United States Air Force and often spoke with great pride about his time in the service. He later enjoyed a long and fulfilling career with NJ Bell and Verizon a job he loved and one that brought him lasting friendships and a deep sense of purpose.
Bob is survived by his three children: Elizabeth and her husband Chris Connors, Suzanne and her husband Derek Parker and his son Jeffrey; his grandchildren Nathan Riello and Jameson Connors; his son-in-law Gregory Riello; his former wife Nancy Sirico and her husband Gregory Sirico; his sister Janet Edmiston; and his nephews Bryan and Timothy Edmiston. He was a devoted father, a proud grandfather, and a steady, loving presence in the lives of those who knew him.
Bob had a passion for classic cars—especially Corvettes—and over the years owned several that he took great pride in. He was also a Hall of Fame bowler, and while his family lovingly teased him about it, they were proud of his perfect 300 games and the joy the sport brought him. Bob was an avid sports fan and loved cheering on his favorite team, The New York Yankees.
He will be remembered not only for his accomplishments, but for his big heart, quick wit, and deep love for his family and friends.
A visitation for Robert will be held Wednesday, May 7, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at McCracken Funeral Home, 1500 Morris Ave, Union, NJ 07083.
