Wayne was born February 1, 1955 and raised in the Vailsburg section of Newark where he met his life long friends. He starred as Vailsburg 2nd baseman #18 and went on to play for the Babe Ruth League. Wayne worked as a lineman for Verizon (formerly Bell Atlantic) for 40 years.
Before retiring to Lanoka Harbor he lived in Iselin, NJ where he raised his two daughters. Later in life he fell in love with the game of golf and actually shot a hole in one!
He enjoyed boating on "My Boy", crabbing and spending time on Barnegat Bay with his long time partner, Diane, family and friends with a Coors Light in hand.
He then found his home away from home at Caffrey's Tavern in Forked River where he played BuzzTime trivia with friends.
He will forever be remembered for his laughter and smile and known to all as the "epitome of fun".
He was predeceased by his parents John and Freda Hanrahan and brother Patrick.
Surviving are his daughters, Julie and Diane Hanrahan, grandchildren Elisa and Adrianna Green, partner Diane Churus, brothers Jack Hanrahan and Michael Hanrahan, sister Kathleen Fagan, nieces Erin Pagano, Marisa Hanrahan, Rory Fagan, nephew Jason Hanrahan, and his special cousin Linda Sybesma.
