The tributes to Bertha today were full of so much love for her.  To know Bertha was to love her.  I think we all loved her the same.  I met Bertha in 1963 the “Best Year Ever”  a new friend. The “Beatles” she loved George and l loved Paul. The Andrade family welcomed me. My first Dodger Game was with my best friend! Trips  to Oceanside Camping and to the snow. Thank you  Bertha for always being A good listener  and a good role model to my daughters. You always worked hard to succeed. I was always proud of you. So happy to have shared all these years with you. I miss you my Dearest friend and I will cherish every memory. Our deepest condolences to all the family ❤️ Linda & Victor Leyva



Bertha, yes you were Vicky’s Nina and that bond was strong, but you always made us feel special and included. Then when we started our own families, you loved our babies too. You were such a special woman and I remember always thinking “God...I wish I was like her,” because you had so much spunk, you were BOLD and you always called it like it was. Thank you for loving my Mama and giving her so many happy memories. We’ll always remember you and keep your memory alive. 

May Bertha Rest In Peace. She was a beautiful woman with a funny, warm soul.

Bertha was a soul sister to me and to my husband.

She was angelically wise and courageous.

Bold and beautiful.

She thought me to listen to intuition and to the gift of fear.

I was so happy to hear her stories of the people she loved.

Her laughter was contagious.

Her wisdom magestic.

I listened and laughed.

She listened to my laughter and cries for help at times of vulnerability.

And she did not judge me. The most loyal friend I have had in my life time.


Bertha thought me to be courageous and to not care what anyone else thinks of me.  

She would say, “I don’t give a bleep.” And she cared for others but not what others thought of her.


We got to do a shot of tequila on zoom a few months ago.

We went to a pool party last summer at the Morongo Casino…

We had a margarita in Cabo.

She was the best partner in fun… of course shenanigans included.


Part of me is lost. I am blessed to have been given the gift of her time, presence and joy while she lived.

Till we meet again honey badger… Save me a spot in heaven by the pool.

It's still so hard to believe that our Tia Bertha is no longer with us. She is so missed. Things will never be the same. Wish I could have one more wine tasting with her, one more yard sale, a trip to Dr Pimple Popper. I miss her laugh (no matter how loud it was). You will always be in my thoughts and prayers. Please watch over my momma.  I Love you Tia.

Bertha’s warm and gracious smile, her heartfelt laugh, and her uplifting personality will always hold a special place in my heart.  Seems like yesterday we were passing between Bldg A and Bldg B at Alta Loma High School...and last summer the ALHS Class of 1969 enjoyed celebrating our 50 year reunion thanks to the hard work of Bertha Andrade and Linda Leyva.  Bertha’s gracious smile and hugs greeted those of us attending the reunion...Bertha hadn’t changed in 50 years.  I am forever blessed from knowing Bertha.

I met Bertha through one of our HR forums years ago and we have worked on many things together.  

We have been Board members of the WIEEAC, she was part of my Emerging HR Professionals committee, and part of my company’s HR Consultants, and attended HR events together.  Plus our Notary Public for both business and personal.  

Bertha was a very caring, helpful, and fun person to be around.   I will miss her dearly, but I guess her time with us was served and she is now in heaven with others that love her too.  

Rest In Peace dear Bertha and one day I’ll see you again.

Bertha was one of the first HR professionals I met in my career. I remember attending SHRM conferences with her. Over time, I began to call her "Tia Bertha". Tia Bertha taught me how to make tamales for the first time at her house. I remember how much she loved her fruit trees. We also had the good fortune of chasing down authentic Texas BBQ in San Antonio together. I am confident that heaven now has a margarita machine, endless tacos, and tamales on demand. I also know I have an HR angel looking over me on my own adventures. Tia Bertha had a huge heart and an infectious laugh. She will be dearly missed, but never forgotten. Sending love, light, and healing thoughts to those loved ones left behind.
