David was an important part of my life for many years and we remained friends  after I moved to the mid-west. I will always remember his bold and hearty laugh and his deep caring for others. His love of the outdoors was an important part of who he was. He was an amazing teacher and a most excellent friend. He will be deeply missed. Sincere condolences to Chris, Trudy, Dan and the kids. May you find peace and comfort in loving memories you hold of him. May God grant you peace in the knowledge that his pain is gone. RIP dear friend - see you on the other side!

I will always remember David's smile and his jokes. He was such a good person and he will be greatly missed. I'm glad he is finally free of his pain and I'm sure he will be watching from above...laughing or playing a joke on someone. My prayers and thoughts go out to his family.

Mr. Metzler was an amazing teacher.  You could totally tell that he loved what he did, and had a love for history itself and was hilarious!  My heart goes out to his wife and his family.  RIP Mr. Metzler.
