

Surrounded by his loved ones, Edwin (Ed) Wayne Rugh, Jr., 75 years old, of Rancho Cucamonga, California, was welcomed into heaven on December 19, 2021. Born in Greensburg, Pennsylvania on November 25, 1946, he was the beloved first son of Edwin Wayne Rugh, Sr. and Ann (Carlisle) Rugh. Loving brother of Robert and Lorraine (Mess) Rugh, and of Donald and Mary Louise (Bossler) Rugh. Dear uncle to seven nephews and nieces, granduncle to twelve grandnephews and grandnieces.
Ed was a graduate of Hempfield Area High School in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, subsequently attended Pittsburgh Academy in Pittsburgh and Central College in Pella, Iowa, then joined the U.S. Army in 1969. He received extensive medical training and served one tour of duty as an Army medic in Vietnam, subsequently earning an honorable discharge. After his Army career he settled in Southern California, applied his medical knowledge working part-time in various SoCal hospitals while taking college courses and graduated from CSULB in 1974 with a degree in industrial arts, earned his teaching credential, and taught woodshop and horticulture variously in LAUSD, Moreno Valley and Upland until his retirement in 2016.
Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life at Northkirk Presbyterian Church, 9101 19th Street, Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91701 at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 12, 2022.
