Frances Brown Sicilia

Age 90, of Upland, California, passed away on December 2, 2020, after a brief illness. Beloved

mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, was born in Springfield, Massachusetts on June 23, 1930 to

Sarah (Nozik) Brown and Isadore Brown. Frances graduated from Classical High School in

1947, and attended Hartt School of Music in Hartford, Connecticut where she studied Opera

and met the love of her life, Alexander Sicilia. They married in June 1953 and eventually

moved to Wethersfield, Connecticut where they raised their two children, Isabel and Frank. In

November 1978, Fran, Alex and their children moved to Upland, California, where they resided

for 38 years. During that time, Fran worked various retail and administrative assistant jobs in

Montclair and Claremont, California. Fran was a fabulous hostess and enjoyed entertaining at

every opportunity. Her home was always open to family and friends. She was an excellent

cook, especially Italian food. Everyone looked forward to her holiday family dinners.

Frances is predeceased by her husband Alexander of 65 years, and her sister, Doris (Brown)

Friedman of Cape Cod, MA. She is survived by her daughter Isabel Carrier (David) of Rancho Cucamonga, CA and son Frank Sicilia (Leila) of San Juan Island, WA, her grandchildren, Alison

Carrier Bortolazzo, Stephen Carrier, Alex Sicilia, Gabriel Sicilia; sisters-in-law Dolores DiFazio

and Emily Vazzano of CT, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A memorial service will be held on February 17, 2021 at Riverside National Cemetery in

Riverside, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 225
