George Carroll Pippen Jr. of Upland, CA passed away on October 18th, 2021 in the comfort of his own home. George was born in North Carolina October 16, 1930 to George and Lovie Pippen. George lived in North Carolina with his 6 brothers and sisters, being the 2nd oldest out of 7. He left North Carolina in 1948 to join the Army. He was stationed at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri, where he met the love of his life, Evelyn Gier. George served a total of 9 years in the Army and is a veteran of the Korean War. George and Evelyn had 2 children, Rory (1953) and Cathy (1955), and eventually moved to California in 1962, making Upland their home for the last 56 years. George began working in the printing industry and retired from San Bernardino County. George lived a very full life and loved train watching in the Cajon Pass, road trips to Montana, and was a devout Christian as a member of the First Baptist Church of Upland for many years. George is survived by his wife of 69 years, Evelyn, his son and daughter in law Rory and Karlla Pippen, son-in-law Mark Lesch, sister and brother-in-law Ron and Linda Stark, Grandchildren Daniel Zucker, Natalie(Mike) Paquette, Janel (Bryan LeMaster), and Huck(Heather) Muessel, along with 7 great grandchildren and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. George was preceded in death by his Daughter, Cathy Lesch, and 5 of his brothers and sisters, Caroline Howard, Bobby Pippen, James Earl Pippen, Martha Pippen and Taylor Pippen. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to the Hospice facility who provided amazing care to him in the last few months of his life, Charter Hospice, Inc. 1007 E. Cooley Dr, Suite 100. Colton, CA 92324. A memorial service will be held for George on November 19th, 2021 at Stones Funeral Home in Upland. All COVID protocols will remain in place, masks must be worn in doors, and the memorial will have limited attendance.
