85, of Upland passed away on January 20, 2014. He was born June 6, 1928 in Watertown, N.Y. and lived in Upland for 15 years. John was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church. He was a veteran of the Navy and served from 1945-1947. His hobbies included his family and flying.
John is survived by his daughter Barbara Andrew, sons John Newman, Gary Newman, Mark Newman, Todd Newman, brother Richard Newman, 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Shirley Ann Newman, granddaughter Alexis Newman and grandson Zachary Leeworthy.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on February 2, 2014 at Stone Funeral Home, 355 E. 9th ST. Upland, CA 91786. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on February 3, 2014 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Upland, CA. Interment will be at Riverside National Cemetery Area #8.
