

With deep love and sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, Lucy Guzman, who passed away peacefully on April 26, 2026, at the age of 92.
Born on June 23, 1933, in Riverside, Lucy lived a life defined by love, compassion, and remarkable strength. Her caring heart and unwavering devotion to family touched everyone who knew her. She built a life centered on service, both personally and professionally, dedicating herself as a licensed LVN and caregiver, always putting the needs of others before her own.
She spent much of her life in Riverside and Upland, where she built lasting friendships and created countless cherished memories.
She joins her beloved husband, Rudy Guzman, in eternal rest with whom she shared a life rooted in love, family, and devotion.
She leaves behind her loving sons, Kim Fernandez and Frank Guzman; her daughter-in-law, Rosemarie Fernandez; her granddaughters, Aja Fernandez Sturz and husband, Dominic Sturz, and Mia Perez and husband, Ed Perez; along with her six cherished great-grandchildren: Matthew Lasher, Ed Perez Jr., Joe Perez, Elijah Perez, Alexis Perez, and Olivia Sturz.
She was preceded in death by her sister Helena Rubidoux and brother Robert Fernandez, including her one remaining living sister, Virginia Payan, with whom she shared a lifelong bond of love and family.
Her legacy is one of kindness, resilience, and unconditional love. She taught her family the meaning of strength through adversity, compassion for others, and the importance of caring for those in need. Her love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A Funeral Mass honoring her life will be held on May 12 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, followed by interment at Riverside National Cemetery.
Though she is no longer with us in person, her spirit remains in the family she nurtured, the lives she touched, and the love she gave so freely. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
