

Plas grew up on a farm which peaked his interest in agriculture. After graduating from Blacksville Training High School in 1937 and Fargo Agricultural School in 1939 Plas relocated to Los Angeles, CA in 1943. Plas Met Thelma at church on Easter Sunday 1954 and they were married 8 months later December 4th, 1954 sharing 67years together.
Plas worked two jobs, The United States Post Office and Hoffman Meat Packing Co. He retired from Hoffmans after 30 years in 1983.
Plas was a man of few words, an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, horseback riding, long walks, family gatherings, singing in the backyard and tinkering around the house.
Plas accepted Jesus Christ at an early age. His commitment to his faith was unwavering. He attended Crenshaw Christian Church every Sunday impeccably dressed, sporting a three piece suit and tie, Stacey Adam shoes and driving a fancy car to boot.
Plas had a love for cameras, he was always making movies on his reel to reel projector, or taking pictures. He would set the timer on his camera, run and pose for the picture. Plas took selfies, before selfies were even a thing.
Plas was the proud Father of two daughters, the late Patty Jean Dunlap-Taylor of Detroit, MI and the late Toni Dunlap of Los Angeles, CA.
Plas leaves to cherish his memory, grandchildren, Toni James and Tiani Franklin of Rancho Cucamonga, CA Sandra, Sharon, Sheila, Julius R Sr. and Ronnell of Detroit, MI and Michael Taylor of Atlanta, GA along with a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Plas was a resident of Inglewood, CA for 49 years, at the age of 98 he relocated to Rancho Cucamonga, CA where he lived a long blessed life, at the age of 105 years old he passed away peacefully at home.
Plas was preceded in death by his parents Leroy and Ruby Dunlap, his wife Thelma Dunlap, his two daughters Patty Jean Dunlap-Taylor and Toni Dunlap, his two step sons Jesse and Frank James, all of his siblings Abi, Cecilia, Seria, Jesse, Futrell, Kerlister, Liddell, Golden, Vernon Dunlap and Delores awaited him on the other side.
