Robert St. Clair Wilkes

Mr. Wilkes was born in Richmond, Virginia on December 11, 1920, to the late Walter Thomas & Bertha Harth Wilkes. Mr. Wilkes was a member of the Conover Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Newton, North Carolina where he was known for his musical and artistic talents. He played the piano and painted wall murals at various Kingdom Halls. He will be greatly missed.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Wilkes was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Ann Wilkes.

Survivors include four brothers, John Wilkes & wife Gazelle of Virginia, Beverly Wilkes of Claremont, George Wilkes & wife Janice of Virginia, and James Wilkes & wife Gladys of Florida; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, November 1, 2014 at the Memorial Chapel of Valdese Family Funeral Care and Perfect Peace Cremations in Valdese, North Carolina. Joda Anderson will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., prior to the service at the funeral home.
