Daniel “Danny” York, 67, of Van Buren, passed away Sunday, December 27, 2015 in Fort Smith. He was born December 31, 1947 in Vinita, OK to the late Virgil and Edna Shaw York. He built manifolds with Gary Roughley for NASCAR; drove for Nolan Faubus; and retired from Walmart. He was a U.S. Army Sergeant during the Vietnam War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte.
He is survived by three daughters, Tina Blackmon of Van Buren, Amanda Phillips of Fort Smith, and Atish Graham of Van Buren; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 31, 2015 at the Fort Smith National Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
The family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren.
