

Donald Walter Nuckolls, 88, of Fort Smith, passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at his home. He was born December 20, 1934 in White Rock. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was a retired roofer for Dale Crampton Company, and a member of Grand Avenue Baptist Church where he taught 4-year old Sunday school.
He was preceded in death by two wives, Monty Jean Nuckolls and Betty Nuckolls; his parents, Delphia (Huggins) and Johnny Beaver and Keller Nuckolls; a stepson, Kirk Baker; and two brothers, Joe and Wayne Beaver.
He is survived by three daughters, Cindy Shelton (Rick King) of Fort Smith, Donna Ahmad (Dirar) of Charleston, WV, and Monica Bumgarner (Sean) of Greensboro, NC; a son, Billy Nuckolls of Fort Smith; a stepdaughter, Kay King (Russell) of Fort Smith; two stepsons, Kenny Baker and Eric Sweet (Seri), both of Fort Smith; four sisters, Betty Eckles of Alma, Mary Osman of Rudy, Chris Simmons of Alma, and Janice Graves of Missouri; three brothers, Arlis Nuckolls (Wilma) of Alma, Robert Nuckolls (Beverly) of Missouri, and Wesley Beaver of Van Buren; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 28, 2023 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Roselawn Cemetery in Fort Smith, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.
Pallbearers will be Rick King, Garret Nuckolls, Billy Nuckolls, Justin Nuckolls, Craig Nuckolls, Ashraf Ahmad, and Chris Shelton.
The family will visit with friends from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, August 27, 2023, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
