Donnie Lee Chronister, 60, of Van Buren, left this earth to join his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, August 6, 2024. Donnie was born in Sebastian County on June 8, 1964 to H.B. and JoEllen (Reeves) Chronister. He was a car salesman, mechanic and auto body repairer for Jr. and Charley's Auto Sales and Salvage, a salesman for C&L Auto Imports, and operated Highway 59 Auto, Jr's Auto Sales and Salvage, and Classic Auto.
Donnie enjoyed fishing, listening to music, and spoiling his beloved dog, Marley. Donnie was a talented mechanic and auto body repairer, and spent most of his time before his health declined at his father's shop getting cars ready for sale. Anyone that purchased a car from Donnie knew they were getting a mechanically sound vehicle and often people would return year-after-year to purchase cars from him because they knew they could trust him and that he would work with them on payments.
Donnie was preceded in death by his mother, JoEllen Chronister.
He is survived by his father, H.B. Chronister, Jr. of Alma; a daughter, Amber Sunday and husband Bryan of Alma; a sister, Belinda Shelly of Alma; and two granddaughters, Amelia Sunday and soon to arrive, Savannah Sunday.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 12, 2024 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Minnow Creek Cemetery in Lamar, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.
