Jewell Stallings, 97, of Van Buren, passed away Friday, February 27, 2026 at her home. She was born January 20, 1929 in Van Buren to the late Clyde and Florence (Pitchford) Kendig. She had been the Deputy Tax Collector for Crawford County.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Olen Jewell Stallings; two sisters, Norma Sue Mootry and Pat Lucille Sempel; and four brothers, Eul, L.C., Gerald, and Jimmy Kendig.
She is survived by a sister, Margie Rusoe of Oakland, CA; and a brother, Donnie Kendig of Bakersfield, CA.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Gill Cemetery, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.
The family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, March 16, 2026, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
