Jim Roiter

Jim Roiter, 72, of Van Buren, passed away Monday, August 24, 2015 at his home. He was born September 18, 1942 in Charlotte, MI to the late James and Jewell Carter Roiter, Sr. He was a retired draftsman, and served in the U.S. Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; a sister, Sandra Brite; and a brother, Ronald Roiter.

He is survived by a daughter, Rhonda Roiter of the home; a son, Shane Roiter of Alma; two sisters, Monica Corso of Davenport, FL and Margo Decker of Liberty Hill, TX; a brother, Clayton Roiter of Fairport Harbor, OH; a granddaughter, Paige Roiter of Alma; and two great-grandchildren, Bentley and Peyton.

Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 28, 2015 at Gill Cemetery in Van Buren, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.

Honorary pallbearers will be James R. Doss, Jerel Driscoll, Malcohm Travis, Terry Menson, Timothy Renaul, and Jack Montgomery.

The family will visit with friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Thursday, August 27, 2015 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren.
