Jimmy Don Evans

Jimmy Don Evans, 83, of Van Buren, went to be with the Lord Thursday, April 9, 2026 at his home. He was born March 29, 1943 in Mulberry. He served his country in the U.S. Navy and was retired from Allen Canning as a boiler operator. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and watching sports and westerns on TV. He loved his family dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rose Wallace and Ode Chapman; three sisters, Garnett Chapman, Delma Bright, and Pat Warnock; and three brothers, Doug, Ed, and Bill Evans.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Patricia Evans of the home; two daughters, Kim Davis and husband William of Van Buren, and Michelle Henning and husband Roland of Fort Smith; seven grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday, April 16, 2026 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at the Fort Smith National Cemetery, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.

Pallbearers will be Dustin Davis, Kolten Henning, Hunter Davis, Skylar Stimson, D'Aundra Clay, and Roland Henning.

The family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
