Juanita Angelina Wallace

Juanita (Stermetz Thurman) Wallace, 81, of Van Buren passed into Paradise on Saturday, April 16, 2022. She was born October 11, 1940 in Fort Smith to Anton “Toney” and Theresa Stermetz. Juanita enjoyed a fulfilling personal relationship with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Juanita was an avid fan of any sport as long as a Razorback was playing on the team. In her honor, a unique piece of Razorback memorabilia is being donated to the University’s athletic department to join other items on display.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters; a brother; and her son’s father, Kendal “Bob” Thurman.

She is survived by her spouse, John Wallace of the home; a son, Rocky Thurman and wife Cui; and a granddaughter, Brittany Thurman, all of League City, TX; a stepson, Marc Wallace of Willis, TX; a sister, Edith Dennis of Van Buren; and a large extended family across the River Valley.

A Memorial Gathering will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 22, 2022 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel with a private interment of ashes to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery for immediate family members only. Cremation is under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.
