

Margaret McCormick, 83, of Alma, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2017 in a local hospital. She was born December 23, 1933 in Crawford County to the late Bill and Hazel Cristee Plum of Alma. She was a licensed beautician, homemaker, avid member of Brammer’s Ole Barn Square Dancers, member of Highway 71 Freewill Baptist Church, and a member of the Fine Springs Lodge Order of the Eastern Star, all of Alma. She was preceded in death by the father of her children; a son, Mark; a sister, Mary Catherine, a daughter-in-law, and a great-grandson.
She is survived by a daughter, Vickie Taylor and husband Ernie; two sons, John McCormick, and Tracy McCormick and wife Patty, all of Alma; a sister, Dorothy Davis and husband Bruce of San Antonio; fifteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel. Cremation is under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR. Interment of ashes will be at Newberry Cemetery at a later date.
The family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 8, 2017, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
