Peggy Ann Blount

Coach Peggy Blount, 65, of Van Buren, passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2014 in a local hospital. She was born October 11, 1948 in Van Buren to the late T.J. and Eunice Jones. She was a homemaker, a member of the Matthew 10 Deliverance Church in Van Buren, and coached Boys & Girls Club sports. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Coach James Blount.

She is survived by two daughters, Stephanie Newton and Tina King, both of Van Buren; a son, Shane Blount of Van Buren; two sisters, Shirley Yeakley of Van Buren, and Sandra Huff of Natural Dam; a brother, William Jones of Warner, OK; and a grandchild.

Funeral service will be 11:30 a.m. Monday, April 23, 2014 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Chapel with interment to follow at the Fort Smith National Cemetery, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.

Pallbearers will be Shane Blount, Khristopher King, Gary Yeakley, Carl Yeakley, Richard Mann, and Shawn Jones.

The family will visit with friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, June 22, 2014, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
