R B Carney, 87, of Van Buren, passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2021 in Fort Smith. He was born July 7, 1933 in Fort Smith to Roy and Vesta Carney. He served in the U.S. Navy; was retired from Arkansas Oklahoma Gas; and a member of North Park Baptist Church.
He is survived by a son, Steve Carney and wife Bridgette of Van Buren; four grandchildren, Stephanie Graves, Karman Johnson, Zackery Carney, and Christian Carney; and five great-grandchildren, Jenna, Tyra, Kira, Emmalyn, and Adeline.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 8, 2021 at North Park Baptist Church with interment to follow at Forest Park Cemetery, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.
Pallbearers will be Charley Williams, Mark Ardemagni, Steve Staggs, Zackery Carney, Nathan Riggs, and Steve Hayes.
Viewing will be 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, February 7, 2021, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
