

Dr. Travis Goodnight, 39, of Alma, passed away Saturday, April 12, 2014 in a local hospital after a long battle with cancer. He was born August 19, 1974 in Shawnee, OK. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma and the OU College of Medicine. His residency was at the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Wichita. He was a general surgeon in Van Buren. He was passionate about the Oklahoma Sooners, golf, fishing and he loved his family. Everyone who ever met Travis loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Missy Goodnight of the home; a daughter, Lexi Goodnight of the home; a son, Kade Goodnight of the home; his parents, Gene and Linda Goodnight of Seminole, OK; four sisters, Kim Goodnight of Broken Arrow, OK, Sundy Goodnight of Jacksonville, FL, Masha Goodnight and Victoria Goodnight of Seminole, OK; three brothers, Dwayne Goodnight of Wolf, OK, Michael Goodnight of Broken Arrow, OK and Cody Goodnight of Norman, OK.
Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at Free Will Baptist Church at 4874 Alma Hwy in Van Buren. Cremation is under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home in Van Buren, AR.
The family will visit with friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
