Velma Lee (Ewing) Hopkins, 57, of Van Buren entered into rest at her home on Sunday, June 10, 2018. Born in Peoria, Illinois on May 20, 1961, Velma was raised in Fort Smith and attended Northside High School. She was a homemaker and worked as a beautician most of her adult life. She was a loving mother and cared for those in need. She enjoyed caring for her many dogs, always taking in strays in need of shelter. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leamon “Jack” Ewing and Virginia (Hall) Roberson.
She is survived by four sons, Cody Hopkins of Arkansas, Dustin Hopkins of Texas, Rowdy Hopkins of Texas, and Stonie Hopkins of Arkansas; a sister, Sharon Lodge; a brother, Kenneth Ewing; two granddaughters, Eliza Hopkins and Caroline Hopkins; and five grandsons, Samuel Hopkins, Jack Hopkins, Hayden Hopkins, Charles Hopkins, and Rexx Hopkins.
A private graveside funeral service will be held Saturday, June 16, 2016 at Bryant Cemetery in Cove City, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.
Pallbearers will be Cody Hopkins, Dustin Hopkins, Rowdy Hopkins, Stonie Hopkins, Troy Hopkins, and Bruce Jones.
