

William "Billy Paul" Lasiter, 90, of Ozark, passed away Friday, September 20, 2024 at Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith. He was born December 17, 1933 in Fort Smith to the late Sidney Paul Lasiter and Ina Helen (Hibbs) Lasiter. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict, and worked as a brakeman for the Santa Fe Railroad.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jenny Lou Lasiter; a son, Lance Lasiter; and a brother, Jimmy Lasiter.
He is survived by two daughters, Delana Jessup (Scott) of Ozark, and Teresa Evans (Lynn) of Elkins; two sons, Garlin “Pete” Kenney (Anita) of Alvin, Texas, and Vance Lasiter of Elkins; a sister, Donna Crowden of Van Buren; ten grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at New Cemetery in Mulberry, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.
Pallbearers will be Scott Jessup, John Barbour, Peyton Barbour, Garlin “Pete” Kenney, Shane Kenney and Dennis Don Crowden. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Gail Morse, Blake Reinhart and Cody Vaught.
The family will visit with friends from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gideons International.
