Angeliki, fondly called Kiki, passed away peacefully on Friday evening at the age of 90. She was predeceased by her husband of 37 years, John (Yianni) in 2000. Kiki was born in Amaladia, Greece to Kosta and Eftihia Kaponis, the youngest of 3 girls. As a young woman she studied nursing in Athens at the Vagelismo and then worked as a nurse for three years in Toronto, Canada. She met John Stubos in Greece whom she married in 1963. Together they moved back to Vancouver where John had already been working, to set up a life in Kitsilano. Three children followed in three years, Erietta, George and Eftihia (Effie). Angela enjoyed a good life with her husband and children, travelling often to her beloved Greece and other parts of Europe and America. She was involved with St George’s Greek Orthodox Cathedral and the Daughters of Penelope. She had many friends and was a part of the Greek community. She loved to garden and swim and take long walks. She was an avid reader and loved cooking for her family. She leaves behind her three children Erietta (Kostas), George (Dori-Ann) and Effie and 5 grandchildren, Maxine, Marcello, Eva, Yianni and Josephine (Josie), her sister Fevronia of Greece as well as many relatives and friends. Yia Yia Kiki will always be remembered fondly sitting in her back yard under her fig tree next to her vegetable garden reading. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. George’s Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 4500 Arbutus St., Vancouver. Interment will follow at 1:15 p.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Burnaby, BC.
