Angeliki (Angela) Goulas
February 10, 1930, April 2, 2026
It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our matriarch, Angela Goulas, on April 2, 2026, in Tsawwassen, British Columbia.
Born in the village of Iamia, Messinias, Greece, Angela was the second of seven children born to Panagiotis and Panagiota Triantopoulos. In 1958, fueled by a yearning for a better life, she courageously left her homeland alone, travelling by ship to Montreal, Canada. She often recalled the difficult voyage across turbulent waters, a testament to the strength that would define her life.
In 1959, she married her husband, Christos, and together they began building a prosperous life in their adopted country. They welcomed three children, Vasilios (Bill), Nicoletta (Niki), and Panagiota (Pangie), before relocating to Vancouver in 1968 in pursuit of new opportunities.
Through years of tireless work and sacrifice, Angela and Christos realized their dreams in 1979 when they purchased a small takeout shop in Tsawwassen. This humble beginning evolved into the thriving and ever-popular Alfa Pizza. For 41 years, "Mama Alfa" was a permanent fixture in the corner at her regular table, greeting customers and friends alike as they came in to dine or just say hello. Her incredible dedication, perseverance, and warmth created a meaningful legacy that remains at the heart of the community. In 2020, the family decided it was time to retire and Alfa was sold to new owners, marking the end of an era.
While the restaurant was her pride, her family was her soul. Her love and devotion were the foundation of everything she did, and her beautiful grandchildren were her greatest joy.
Angela was predeceased by her beloved husband, Christos, her daughter, Pangie, and her six siblings, Sophia, Yianni, Koula, George, Voula, and Stavro. She is survived by her children, Bill (Kay) and Niki (Randy), and her cherished grandchildren, Sophia (Vassili), Angelica, Christos, Stefanos, and Dimitri.
Mom, you will be loved, honoured, and missed beyond measure. Your legacy lives on in the family you adored and the community you embraced.
