

He is sadly missed by his wife Angela his daughters Joanna and Nicole his son in-laws Nikolaos and Socrates and his beloved grandchildren Aggeliki, Dimitrios and Christos.
He is also survived by his siblings Panayioti, Thespina and Chris. Angelo was born on June 13 1943 in the small town of Thermisia Argolida, Greece where he spent most of his childhood . At the age of 19 he was called to serve in the Army that was based in the village called Delvinaki, Ioannina where he met his wife Angela. They were married 2 years later in 1965 and then immigrated to Canada in 1966. They then had their first daughter in 1967 and then their second daughter in 1972.
Angelo was predeceased by his mother Joanna, father Niko and his siblings, Vaso, Sophia, and Kiriakos
He worked in the MacMillan Bloedel Pulp and Paper Mill in Powell River BC and later owned and operated a successful restaurant called Westview Pizza. His hobbies included fishing and restoring old cars but his passion was hunting.
He often went back to Greece to visit his family and then finally retired in Vancouver where he enjoyed gardening and spending time with family and friends.
We will miss his kindness and gentle demenour and his smile that melted our hearts, but his memory will live on

Funeral services will be held Monday Sept 16, 2024 at 11:30 am at St. Georges Orthodox Church Cathedral 4500 Arbutus Street Vancouver BC
Father Nikolaos Sideras officiating.
Committal service to follow Forest Lawn Memorial Park 3789 Royal Oak Avenue Burnaby BC @ 1:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hellenic Community of Vancouver in memory of Angelo Sabanis.
