Athanasia "Sia" Zelis

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beautiful wife, mother and grandmother, Athanasia (Sia) Zelis, at the age of 72. Predeceased by her beloved daughter, Irene, she leaves behind her loving and devoted husband, George, her son Pete (Fani), her son-in-law Nick and her grandchildren Jonathan, George, Alyssia and Stephen. Also lovingly remembered by her sister, Helen Michael (Paul) and her brother Kostas Kalantzis (Eleni), her nieces and their families as well as many friends and relatives in Vancouver and Greece. Sia was born in Filothei, Greece and came to Vancouver in 1966 where she met and married her husband, George, enjoying 51 beautiful years together. Sia will be remembered for her kindness and devotion to her family especially her four grandchildren who she adored. Prayers will be held on Sunday, September 10, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at St George's Greek Orthodox Cathedral where a Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 11, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, Vancouver.
